The Hellenic Shriners Club (HSC) and the Karyatides – Daughters of the Nile, on Friday 01.03.2024 organized a Carnival feast for their members and friends, in a well-known tavern in Kifissia, informing them about their work.
The event was a great success as more than 110 members and friends attended, filling the place to overflowing and having a lot of fun and dancing. At the same time, a raffle was organized, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Shriners Children’s Hospital. The event was honored with the presence of Mrs. Evi Christofilopoulou, university graduate, former Member of Parliament, former Deputy Minister of Education, former Deputy Minister of Administrative Reform and candidate for the European Parliament.
Shriners is an International Charitable Organization founded in the USA in 1870, which has 350,000 members worldwide and operates and supports 22 non-profit specialized children’s hospitals (Shriners Children’s) across the Americas, providing FREE treatment and rehabilitation services to children up to 18 years of age, regardless of gender, place of origin, residence, nationality or religion. In Greece, they have had an official presence since 2016.
The Daughters of the Nile is an international organization of women, ages 18 and older, who support both the Patient Transportation Fund at Shriners Children’s Hospitals and Shriners Children’s Hospitals. At these facilities, orthopedic and maxillofacial problems, burns and spinal cord injuries are treated with great success, providing essential help to children from all over the world without taking money from the patients’ families for the various medical services provided. In Greece, they have an official presence from 2024.
The goal of the Hellenic Shriners Club and the Daughters of the Nile is to send as many children as possible to Shriners hospitals for help, regardless of the ability of parents or relatives to pay for travel, hospitalization and treatment.
