Brief Background

The foundation of the “Pleias” Lodge is linked to the history of the foundation of St. “Melis” Lodge No.76. The two Lodges were formed from the same nucleus of Masons , all of whom were members of the “Meli” Lodge founded on July 23, 1867 in the Anat. Smyrna, in Ionian Land. These tectonics fled in 1922 after the Asia Minor disaster to Greece where they settled.

The establishment of the Lodge took place on 5 March 1928 at the then Masonic Hall on Voulis Street in Athens. The chairman of the installation committee was Endoxotatos. Grand Master Miltiadis Pouris and members were the Endoxo brothers. Mr. Gonopoulos and Γ. Stratos .The founding diploma of the Lodge was issued on 31 March 1928 and bears the signatures of the members of its founding committee.
