His family came from Paxos and he always maintained close ties with his friends from Epirus. A politician and scholar, he was elected several times as a member of the Parliament of Paxos. A member of the National Society, he developed considerable activity and took part in the unfortunate war of 1897. He also worked as a successful journalist and contributor to many mainly Athenian newspapers (Acropolis, Ethnos, Estia, Empros).
In 1924 he became Minister of Education. He was the general director of the Technical University of Athens. He wrote historical and theatrical works, we mention selectively : Greece during the Olympic Games, Military Memories, Old Streets and Old Physiognomies. He translated into Greek Skibichevsky’s History of Russian Literature.
In 1930 he was elected President of the Union of Journalists.
