A chemist, he studied at the University of Berlin and graduated in 1903. He continued his studies in France and England and received a degree in Philosophy. In 1905, still a young man, he was appointed professor of chemistry at the University of Athens. In 1912 he founded the Chemical Service of the Royal Navy and was appointed as D.D. In 1917 he became a full professor of the N.M.P. He was the founder and first director of the Laboratory of General Experimental Chemistry. In 1920 he became Director of the Chemical Education Department.
He was also a professor at the Naval School. He was also a professor at the Naval Cadet and Artillery School, and taught at the Higher Agricultural School. From 1944 to 1952 he held the chair of General Experimental Chemistry. In 1943 he became vice-rector of the N.M.P. and in 1946 Rector. He wrote articles in journals, encyclopedias and published studies in Greece and abroad. He published scientific writings , such as The Explosives, Handbook of Organic Chemistry , Handbook of Inorganic Chemistry.
He was honoured by the state with the Cross of Brigadier of the Order of George I. He was a member of the Council of the Grand Lodge of Greece.
