Alexandros Tzazopoulos was born in Constantinople in 1896, studied law at the University of Athens and practiced law until 1963, when he was elected Grand Master.

She entered Freemasonry in 1924 in the “Homer” Lodge No. 61, while in January 1928 St. “Melis” was subordinated by his actions to the Great Anatoli of Greece with No. 1928. 76. He served as the Rev. of St. “Melis” (1932-1941 and 1945-1950), Member of the Council of the Grand Lodge during the period 1955-57 Grand Master, 1957-59 Second Grand Master, 1959-62 First Grand Master, 1962-63 Additional Grand Master and from 1963 to 1975 Grand Master. He was made an Honorary Grand Master for life for his outstanding service. In the Scottish Press he joined the ‘Mystagogy‘ workshop on 29.11.1930, was a founder member of the ‘Light’ Pigeon Club (1934), in 1955 he rose to the 33rd degree and in 1962 became an active member of the High Council.

He was a distinguished spiritual man. He wrote articles for the newspaper ‘Kathimerini’, the philosophical magazine ‘Ilissos’ and published many studies. In 1934 he founded the ‘Melis’ reform schools, night schools for illiterate young people, which were run exclusively by private sponsorships, mainly from private individuals, mainly tectonists. Their graduates numbered more than 200 000 young men and women, who were assisted and cared for by the tectonists for their education and later life.

Alexandros Tzazopoulos and Glorious Brother C. Katsafados organized the construction of the Hospital for Cancer Patients“Agioi Anargyroi“, as well as the Hellenic Cancer Society, for which they were honored by the Ministries of Health and Education.

In 1965 he recommended the demolition of the Athens Masonic Hall, which was inadequate for modern needs, and its replacement with a modern building. With many efforts he raised money from Greece and abroad so that a complete and functional building could be inaugurated in 1967.

He was transferred to the Eternal East in 1975 in Athens.
