He studied at the Military School of Evelpidonics. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1936. He became an instructor at the Evelpidon School. He fought in Albania and was distinguished for his bravery. He landed in Crete and fought heroically in the Battle of Crete against the German paratroopers. He then fled to the Middle East where he joined the Iero Company. He took part in the Battle of Rimini. He was a Division Chief of Staff and at the G.E.S. he was a Professor at the Higher School of War. He was awarded 3 War Crosses and 2 Gold Medals of Valour.
