He studied law at the University of Athens and continued his studies in Berlin and Paris. He worked as a lawyer in Alexandria, Egypt and in Piraeus.

From a young age he showed his talent in poetry and letters. In 1886 he published translations of Goethe’s Faust and Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 1886. This was followed by Cyrano de Bergerac by Rostand. He demonstrated his great writing talent with plays : Archilochus , Nikiforos Fokas, Sword and Lyre, Basil Vulgar Killer and the one-act comedies The Old Man of Hymettus, The Platonists.

In 1892 he won the first prize in the Philadelphia competition for his work Eros and Psyche. His poetry collections are : Rhododaphne, Songs of the house, What the waves say, Macedonian songs, Tropaea, etc.
