Spyridon Nagos’ life was complicated and turbulent. He came to Athens in search of work and education. He worked at the (T.T.T.T.) post offices – telegraph offices of the time. He was influenced by the socialist and trade unionist social currents of the time. He was elected as a representative of various trade unions (T.T.T. and confectioners’ etc.) which demanded the rights of free expression, fair pay, health care, pensions, strikes etc.

He was a founding member of the Socialist League. He was a columnist in the socialist newspaper “ARDIN”. Together with other technocrats of the time, Pl. Dracoulis, Th. Flogitis, Rock. Hoidas, G. Filaretou, Tim. Filimonas etc. participated in the Radical Labour political movement of 1890. They also published the newspaper Rizospastis. For his ideas he was persecuted by the police. He also participated in the organization of the first ecological movement “Athena Health”. He later turned his interest to Theosophy and became a member of the newly founded Theosophical Society. He wrote articles in various magazines with philosophical and mystagogical content. He authored books such as “Inhabitant of the Universe” “Spiritual Ideas” “On Acreophagy” “God the Argonaut?” and

He was a member of the Council of the Grand Lodge of Greece.
