Galanos Spyridon (Athens, 30/12/1896 - 21/12/1960) "Orpheus" Gallery

He began his studies at the Varvakeio Lyceum and then studied at the University of Athens, Natural Sciences. He was awarded a doctorate in 1918. He continued his studies in chemistry as a scholar at the Universities of Berlin and Munich. He returned to Greece where he worked initially as an assistant and curator of the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry at the University of Athens. He became Full Professor at the University of Athens in 1936. He taught at the Athens Health School, the Roussopoulou Academy and the School of Gendarmerie Officers. He was a lexicographer and left many studies on the chemistry of food and Greek products.

He was an Additional Grand Master.
