Son of Socrates, the demigod of Smyrna and brother of Spyros. He followed in his father’s footsteps. After completing his secondary education at the famous Gymnasium of the Evangelical School of Smyrna, he studied law at the University of Athens. He returned to Smyrna and published with his brother Spyros the newspaper“Tharros”. At the same time he worked as editor-in-chief at his father’s newspaper“Amalthea” and as editor at the newspaper“Eleftheros Logos”.

After 1922 he left for Greece where he worked as a lawyer but also became involved in politics. He served as deputy minister, general administrator of Epirus, during the government of Sofoulis. He was elected MP with Papagos (Ethnikos Synagerimos) and Minister of Social Welfare. Member of the EPP and Gen. Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs under Greg Kasimatis.

He developed great activity in charities, foundations and associations. He left an excellent and rare literary work for Smyrna. We selectively mention : The Theatre in Smyrna (1954), Medicine in Smyrna, Journalism in Smyrna (1959), Education in Smyrna (1961), Chrysostom of Smyrna (1971), etc. Four of his works were awarded by the Academy of Athens.Chr. Solomonides was awarded the Order of the Phoenix, the Order of the Order of the Phoenix, the Supreme Order of the Italian Republic, the Gold Medal of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Order of St. Mark of the Patriarchate of Alexandria.
