He was born in Athens in 1903. At the age of twenty he finished his studies at the Technical University of Athens and received a diploma in civil engineering. Thereafter and until 1930, he pioneered and directed many large technical projects. In 1930 he was elected associate professor at the NTUA, in the chair of Applied Statics and Iron Structures. In 1942 he became a full professor of the chair.
In 1932 he was called upon to help in the reconstruction and reconstruction of Corinthia after the terrible earthquakes of 1928. He is appointed Director of the Autonomous Organization of Earthquake Victims and helps a lot with the whole project. He was distinguished internationally for his studies in the construction of anti-seismic buildings. In 1935 he was a consultant to the Hellenic Railways. In 1936 he became a professor at the School of Applied Engineering.
In 1937-38 he was Director of the Technical Services of the Ministry of Social Welfare and supervised the construction of hospital projects, social perception and the reconstruction of earthquake-affected regions throughout Greece. From 1953 he became General Director of the Department of Construction and Rehabilitation of the Greek National Infrastructures in Greece. He became Secretary of the Ministry of Public Works. In 1955 he was elected President of the Council of Productive Classes. He was elected President of the Technical Chamber for many years.
He became a citizen in 1958 and was elected as a Member of Parliament several times. In 1965 he served as Minister of Public Works. He taught for over thirty years and was much loved by his students. In 1966-68 he taught advanced mathematics and modern engineering. His teaching and scientific writings as well as his studies are still today a great intellectual legacy.
