He was born in Piraeus in 1883. After completing his schooling in Piraeus, he went to Hesperia as a young man to complete his studies and to pursue commercial and industrial studies at the same time. Now a graduate of the School of Political Science and the Higher Commercial School of Paris, and with a degree in chemistry from London College, he returned to Greece to join his brother in the management of his father’s industrial firm, Demodenthenes Pouris. In this field he was distinguished for the remarkable impetus he gave to the wine and spirits industry and contributed to the establishment of ‘Bacchus‘, a joint stock company of the united producers of wine and spirits in Greece. He was appointed an officer of the Military Academy of France, was awarded the war medals of Greece, was a consultant to banks and industrial enterprises and occupied a much sought-after position in Athenian and Piraeus society. He was President of the Piraeus Association.

He entered Freemasonry in 1906, when he was introduced to St. “Atticus Astir“, which offered remarkable national services under the inspired leadership of Theodore Flogotis. It was adopted on 23 September 1916 by the St. “Pythagoras” and was an active member of the Lt. Council of the 33rd from 1917. He served as Grand Master from 1926 to 1931. Through his actions the Masonic Foundation was recognized by the State (10.12.1927) and the privately owned Megara of Athens and Piraeus were erected (1930). In 1969 he was transferred to the Eternal East.
