He studied archaeology at the University of Athens and was a fellow of the Archaeological Society in Germany. He served as a teacher at the Gymnasium of Mytilene and the Evangelical School of Smyrna. He became a professor in 1926 at the University of Thessaloniki. He was Director of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki (1917-1933).

He did many excavations in Thessaloniki, Amphipolis, Edessa etc. Curator of antiquities in Macedonia in 1914. He also excavated and studied the cemetery of Paleo Faliro and published a special study. He published many archaeological studies : “The type of Athena of Medici”, “On the excavation of the Brashtinian Calybias” etc. He published the interesting historical book: “On the state and society of ancient Thessaloniki”.
