G. Nikolitsa was a professor at the NTUA, in the Department of Engineering Sciences and Surveying. He was the first Professor and the initiator of the newly established School of Geodesy at the NTUA, with an independent chair in Geodesy (1955), from 1957 to 1960. He also organized and founded the Geodesy Laboratory (1957) and was responsible for equipping it with surveying instruments (theodolites, speedometers, stations, spatial scales, etc.).
