He studied Law at the Law School of the University of Athens and continued his studies in Germany (Munich, Leipzig and Göttingen) where he received his doctorate. In 1890 he returned to Greece and practiced law for a time. Afterwards he was elected professor and General Secretary of the University of Vienna. He was elected as a professor and then became a general secretary in the Ministry of Education. In 1892 he became Full Professor of History and Roman Law at the E.K.P.A.
He authored legal books, such as: Civil Procedure of the Romans, History and Treatises of Roman Law, 2 vols.
