He served as a bank employee at the National Bank of Greece for many years. During the occupation he organized soup kitchens in Filothei and in June 1944 he was arrested by the Germans and detained in Camp Haidari. He was President of the Association of Bank Employees of the National Bank (ETE) and President of the Federation of Bank Employees (OTOE).

He was very involved in literature and wrote short stories. He collaborated with the magazine ”Noumas”, with the newspaper ”Eleftheros Logos Patras” and finally he was the founder of the literary and philosophical magazine”Elisos” (1956).

Melissaropoulos was very involved in esoteric philosophy, social quests and theosophy. He studied the ancient Greek philosophers, but he was also involved in Eastern philosophy. He gave many lectures at the Philological Society “Parnassus”, at the Archaeological Society and founded a club called“Pyrsos“. He wrote many books on occultism, mysticism and theosophy.

He was a high-ranking member of the High Council of the 33rd and the Grand Lodge of Greece.
