(Lamia 1881 – Athens 1967)
Son of an Epirus family of 1821 fighters, members of the F.E. who fought in Kasomoulis’ corps. He took part in the Balkan wars of 1912-13, and was wounded in the deadly battle of Kilkis-Lachanas against the Bulgarians. The Bulgarians would put a bounty on his head to prevent him from entering the area of Drama with his military detachment. During World War I 1916-18 he was captured and imprisoned by the Germans in Gorlitz. Later he would take part in the Asia Minor campaign as a Major. In 1922 he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. He was dismissed as a collaborator with the Leonardopoulos movement. He was reinstated in 1927. He was general commander and minister, Epirus 1936-37 and then general commander of Macedonia 1937-41, was a member of the government of Ioan. He was a member of the government of Ioannis Metaxas.
