(Chios 1866 – 1928)
He studied at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Athens and trained in Erlangen, Bavaria. He worked as a teacher of History in secondary schools in Chios, Thessaloniki and Asia Minor, at the Seminary of Caesarea. At that time he also worked with Consul Koromilas on national issues (Macedonian). He was appointed Professor at the newly established University of Thessaloniki (1926). In 1928 he was elected Rector of the University of Thessaloniki. He collaborated, wrote articles and published monographs in newspapers, magazines, journals of the time, “Athena, Chia Chronicle, Greek, Macedonian Calendar”, etc. He left a large body of writings mainly on the period of Ottoman rule, the action of the Greeks during the Russo-Turkish war of 1768-74, the Revolution of 1821, etc.
