A multifaceted personality with a broad education and social activity. He was awarded a doctorate in law in 1870. He continued his studies abroad in Germany and France for 6 years. On his return he was appointed lecturer in the Philosophy of Law at the University of Athens. In 1894, he was elected Full Professor of Philosophy of Law. He served three times as Dean of the Faculty of Law (1890 – 91, 1900 – 01 & 1907 – 08). He was elected Rector of the University of Athens in 1902-3.

In 1910 he resigned as a professor to take up politics. He was elected as a deputy in the First Revisionist Parliament. He was a founder of the Hellenism Society and published the political magazine of the same name. Kazazis left a great liberal literary work full of humanity and proposals for human rights and individual freedoms. Among others we mention: Socrates, Vertherus’ disease, Victor Hugo, Thersos as a historian, Nihilism in Russia, The French Revolution, The Great Cities, The political theories of the French Revolution and the historical school of law, etc.
