(Piraeus 1901 – 1988)

 

After his secondary education, he studied in France at the Higher School of Mines of St. Etienne, where he obtained the diploma of Metallurgist and Civil Mining Engineer. Since 1927 he practised the profession of Metallurgist in mining companies all over Greece. In 1943 he was elected professor at the NT Polytechnic University, in 1946 he was appointed Associate Professor at the Chair of Mining Exploitation. In 1960 he became a full professor. He contributed greatly to the development of the School of Metallurgy. In 1959 he also became a professor at the National Defence School. He wrote many studies and books on mineralogy and mining. He was a member of the prestigious Institute of American Mineral Research. He was honored by the Greek State with the Golden Cross of George I and the Order of the Phoenix.
