Professor of Meteorology

He studied mathematics at the University of Athens and then at Harvard USA. He specialized in the field of Meteorology. He served in many meteorological services in Greece. He was a member of international organizations. He became a professor at the University of Athens in 1925. In 1971 he became the Chair of Meteorology at the University and taught Climatology. He was director of the Athens Observatory. He published many studies. He was a member of international meteorological societies, US, UK and Greek. During the Greco-Italian War he fought as a Reserve Lieutenant and was awarded by the State with the Golden Cross of the Phoenix, the Golden Cross of George I with swords and the Medal of Exceptional Deeds . His large library of 8000 volumes has been donated to the Holy Trinity of Evrytania. He also left an important literary work related to meteorology.
