He studied at the Athens Law School and was awarded a doctorate in 1909. From 1914 to 1919 he studied philosophy, political and economic sciences at the University of Berlin. In 1920 he returned to the Chair of Political Economy at the University of Athens and in 1924 he became a full professor. He was distinguished for his scholarship, intellectual breadth and creative research. He taught outside the University of Athens as a professor at the ASOEE, Panteion University. He held all the highest honorary positions of Senator and Rector.
The Greek state awarded him the Order of the Saviour.
