He graduated from the famous Evangelical School. He left for Greece and studied law and continued his studies in France. He made a career in the diplomatic branch. He became a politician and was appointed Prefect of Almyros Volos. In 1902 he was elected as a deputy with G. In 1902 he was elected in 1902 with G. Theotokis. He was re-elected in 1905/6. In 1908 he became Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government of G. Theotokos. In 1908 he was elected as a minister in the government of Greece in the government of Theotokis. He participated in the government of D. Gounaris in 1915 as Minister of Transport. In 1921 he participated in the government of N. Kalogeropoulos , as Minister of Agriculture and Shipping.

In the same year he participated with Dim. Gounaris in the Paris and London conference on the Asia Minor issue. In 1922 he served as Foreign Minister in the governments of Gounaris and Protopapadakis. The Asia Minor disaster brought the need to find “scapegoats” and the Plastiras-Gonatas revolution in 1922 established an Extraordinary Military Tribunal to find those responsible. The famous Trial of the Six, convicted G. Baltatzis to death. In 2010, the Greek justice system acquitted the executed men of charges of national treason.
