He studied mathematics at the University of Athens and in 1918 he was awarded a doctorate in mathematics. In 1924 he became an associate professor at the NTUA. In 1929 he was elected full professor of mathematics. He was considered a very remarkable mathematician especially in “Theory of Functions”.
He made many original announcements, such as that of his thesis on the “Generalization of the concept of the curvature of surfaces” and was distinguished for his works “On the research of the Theory of Constellations” and “Space, time, space-time” together with K. Karatheodoris.
He also taught at the Naval Cadet School and other military schools. He was a founding member and vice-president of the Hellenic Mathematical Society (1931). Sadly, Aristotle Economou passed away very quickly and thus a brilliant spirit passed away ingloriously.
