F:. Pella
(Koroni 1884 – Athens 1964)
A career soldier, he took part in the Balkan Wars, World War I and the Asia Minor campaign as Chief of Staff of the XV Division. From 1923 to 1927 he was demobilized for his participation in the Gargalides-Leonardopoulos movement. He was reinstated in 1927. During World War II, 1940-41 he served as commander of the 4th Corps in the East. In 1941-41 he served in the Eastern Macedonia and then in the North-Epirus sector. During the occupation he participated in the organization of the counter-army. He was captured by the Germans in 1943 and sent to a hostage camp with Alex. Papagos, K. Bakopoulos , P. Dedes. He was liberated by the Americans in 1945. In 1949 he was recalled from retirement and was appointed Chief of General Staff and Chairman of the Council of Chiefs of Staff until 1951. Member of Parliament in 1951 and 1952 . He re-established the Army Non-Commissioned Officer Training School (NCO Training School) in 1950 and improved it. He also served as the general commander of Thrace, East. Macedonia (1947-48), Northern Greece (1954) and Minister of Northern Greece (1954). He served as Minister of Northern Greece (1955). The state honoured him with many medals and decorations, the Golden Award of Valour, the War Cross of the First Class, and the Medal of Exceptional Deeds, with the Cross of the Order of George I with swords. Finally, the Senior Brigadier of the Order of St. George and St. Constantine. He also wrote the apocalyptic book Greek Wars.
