Charles XI, (Stockholm, 3/5/1826 - Malmö, 18/9/1872)

Ο Charles XV (Charles XV, 1826-1872) or Charles XV of Sweden, was King of Sweden and Norway from 1859 to 1872. Charles XI’s greatest achievement was the improvement of relations between Sweden and Norway, as well as the execution of important infrastructure and development projects. In addition, there was an interest in the arts and sciences and he supported cultural endeavours in Sweden and Norway.

In terms of his involvement in Freemasonry, Charles XI was known for his involvement with the Masonic Brotherhood, having a significant influence on its development in the country. Given his royal status, he held high ranks in the system.

Charles XI played an important role in promoting Freemasonry in Sweden, which experienced a period of significant tectonic activity during his reign.

He died in Malmö on 18 September 1872, at the age of 46.
