Antipas Andreas (Tenedos, 1865 - Athens, 1950)

He studied medicine at the University of Constantinople and specialised in surgery. Chief surgeon at the International Hospital of Istanbul. He was subsequently appointed professor at the University of Constantinople. He was president of scientific societies and institutions, as well as of the Turkish Red Cross (Red Crescent).

In 1920 he came to Greece where he settled permanently. He served as a Reserve Chief Physician in the Greek Army. In 1927 he founded the Hellenic Surgical Society. He was a professor of Military Medical Schools. He founded his own medical clinic “Antipas Clinic”. He was awarded medals for his contribution and bravery.
