He was a student of the Zosimaia School of Ioannina and attended the Philosophy Department of the University of Athens. He fought in the Balkan wars 1912-13. He then specialized in Linguistics at the University of Sorbonne and at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes in Paris. He then completed his studies at the University of Basel (Switzerland). Finally, he became a Doctor.
He worked as a Gymnasium Principal in Nicosia. Collaborator of the Historical Dictionary of the Academy of Athens (1921). He succeeded Professor G. Hadjidakis at the University, in the chair of Linguistics. He was original in his studies of the ancient and modern Greek language. Polygraphic in books and publications on etymology and lexicography. Famous for his folkloric studies of Epirotic idioms and dialects.
