He studied painting in Munich and studied alongside our great painter, Nikolaos Gyzis. He continued his studies at the University of Athens in the Department of Philosophical Archaeology. He was elected Professor of Archaeology. Then Professor of Art History at the School of Fine Arts. He was curator of antiquities in Nafplio, Patras and Athens. He conducted many archaeological excavations in Sicyon, Nicopolis, Hermione, Athens and elsewhere.

He was Director of the Epigraphic Museum of Athens. Member of the Rotary Club of Athens, served as its president in 1940-41 and 1945-46. He created the Silver Medal of the first winners of the 1st Olympiad of 1896. He wrote for the newspaper Acropolis under the pseudonym Gorilas, with a harsh and critical pen. With the declaration of war by the Italians, he co-signed a letter with other intellectuals of the time which was published in the newspaper Nea Ellas. He was a prolific writer and left an excellent body of work on historical and archaeological subjects and studies, we can list : Scarifies from my Taxidion in Aemon, Egyptian Scarifies, The Heroes of the Greek Revolution, Excavations of Nicopolis, The Graphic despite the ancient Greeks, Delos, Guide to Athens. etc.
