GRAND LODGE OF GREECE FREE AND ACCEPTED MASONS![]()
GRAND MASTER
Or∴ Athens February 9 2026
STATEMENT NO. 1 / 2026
Dear Brethren,
One year has already elapsed since the General Assembly of the Representatives of our Lodges, who honored the members of the present Grand Council of the Grand Lodge of Greece and entrusted us with its administration, bestowing upon me the supreme honor of holding the First Gavel.
During this period, through creative, collective, and tireless effort grounded on selfless and continuous cooperation, we have endeavored to implement the goals we set, goals that are unanimously adopted, along with actions in favor of the prosperity of our Lodges, of the Order, and, more broadly, of the magnificent institution we serve. We do so guided at all times by the relief of our suffering fellow human beings and by the improvement of ourselves, so that we may be useful to our families, to society, and to our Homeland, in the eternal effort of the Freemason to stand, through the ages, as a living beacon of spiritual light and a source of inspiration.
Always united as a tight fist, always devoted to our common God pleasing Purpose, always devoted to our Strength that lies in unity.
The pillars of our actions have moved in a balanced manner along three directions: spiritual, ritualistic and philanthropic.
All are necessary and imperative for the prosperity of the Order.
We set goals which are already being implemented methodically and consistently, by common acknowledgment at a faster pace than initially anticipated.
Within this framework of action, ten specialized commissions were established, covering the full spectrum of needs and objectives, staffed by members of our Grand Lodge, scientists and professionals, with knowledge and skills relevant to the subject matter of each commission.
Brethren,
We strive daily to bring into practice our common vision, which constitutes a prerequisite for the longevity and flourishing of our Order, safeguarding and enhancing its prestige, as it deserves, not only domestically but also internationally.
Through our actions and interventions, we seek to inspire our Brethren and to achieve the mobilization of all of us, united in our common purpose, as befits a philosophical and philanthropic fraternity comprised of free and virtuous volunteers, pursuing lofty spiritual and charitable goals.
From the outset, the present Board of Grand Officers,
declared that it is not our intention to govern in the narrow sense of a rigid hierarchy that requires the execution of commands in order to achieve objectives, as is the case in large enterprises, where goals are material and human resources do not consist of volunteers.
What we therefore seek is leadership that inspires through hard work, that shows the way—rather than impersonal “management.”
Whether we succeed in this rests with your judgment and your criticism, which are both valuable and indispensable to us.
We are already moving and acting in the third decade of the twenty-first century.
We are heading toward the Fifth Technological Revolution, the so-called Quantum, while already experiencing the fruits of the Fourth Technological Revolution, in which Artificial Intelligence (AI) comes as an ally to the intelligent Human Being and the initiated Mason, naturally for the achievement of our socially beneficial philanthropic actions and benevolent aims.
We adapt new revolutionary technologies to our purposes and principles, to our ideals and our traditions, and not the other way round, since our philosophy remains and must remain unchanged through the ages, together with our eternal principles and values.
Allow me, briefly, to recall only some of our achievements, although with the assistance of modern mass media and networking platforms we all become aware of them in real time. We have unanimously chosen restrained extroversion and the public presentation of our actions, so that society may know precisely our initiatives and through encouragement be aware that our actions may inspire imitation for the continuation and completion of our multifaceted work.
At the spearhead of our efforts stands the initiative “Freemasons for the Child” including institutionalized blood donation drives for children with thalassemia; our contributions and partnerships with the Special Olympics; institutions for persons with disabilities and children within the autism spectrum; pediatric oncology hospitals; the Hellenic Cancer Society; and, in general, the donation of defibrillators to special education schools, artificial turf, seating for institutions hosting underprivileged children, and many other initiatives that follow.
Within the same framework, we address with respect and sensitivity the phenomenon of climate change and the climate crisis, since, as is well known, “we do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, but we borrow it from our children”.
Thus, we proceeded with tree planting initiatives and beach clean-ups, culminating in the highly successful 1st Masonic Symposium held three months ago in Thessaloniki, entitled “Freemasonry and the Protection of the Environment,” where distinguished scientists from Grand Lodges across the broader Balkan region addressed the critical issue of environmental sustainability afflicting our planet.
As regards our purely Masonic work, we proceeded with further modernization of the operations of the Grand Lodge of Greece, the enhancement of the promotion and utilization of the Historical Archives of the Lodges, as well as the strengthening of the administration’s care for the Lodges of the regions through frequent visits, through the convening of Administrative Councils, and the further organization of activities, Masonic events, and open festivities.
Finally, placing particular emphasis on the proper functioning and ritual work within the Lodges, various seminars were organized both in person and online.
Brethren,
We invite all Brethren to participate in this beautiful creative journey that we embark upon, and everyone who offers himself will be utilized, as I committed from the very beginning.
We continue United, Strong, and Devoted to our Noble purposes!
Fraternal Regards,
