Donation of a Fire Truck by the Masonic Foundation

The ceremony of handing over a fire truck, donated by the “Masonic Foundation” to the Fire Brigade, took place on Thursday 17 October at the premises of the Fire Brigade Headquarters.

The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chief of Operations, Lieutenant General of the General Staff, Major General of the General Staff Stefanos Kolokouris, the Deputy Chief of Support, Major General of the General Staff Konstantinos Kyriakopoulos, the Coordinator of Support of the A.P.S. On the part of the “Masonic Foundation”, its President, His Excellency Grand Master Brother Michael Mattes, accompanied by other members of the Foundation, was present.

The Masonic Foundation decided that part of the financial donation of the Brethren of the Grand Lodge of Greece, together with the financial contribution of the Regional Grand Lodge of the United Grand Lodge of England in Cyprus, should be used for the purchase of a Fire Engine which was allocated to the Fire Brigade for its needs.

The brothers’ donations were made during the summer season of 2018, immediately after the devastating fire in Mati, Attica. The presentation of the commemorative plaque of thanks took place during the annual Social Solidarity Event of the Masonic Foundation on March 30, 2019, at the Divani Caravel Hotel, in the presence of more than 1000 guests and brothers of the Grand Lodge of Greece.

The Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Greece Michael Mattes, as president of the Masonic Foundation, receives a commemorative plaque from the Deputy Chief of Support, Lt. Konstantinos Kyriakopoulos, on behalf of the Fire Brigade, as a commemorative thank you for the donation of a Nissan Navara KingCab Pro 4×4 fire truck with the necessary equipment for the operational needs of the Brigade in Northeast Attica.
