The PLATO Lodge No. 63 of Kavala celebrated the 100th anniversary of its founding with great pomp and numerous representations during the weekend of 22-23 November 2024.

On Friday evening the brothers who arrived in the city with their wives were welcomed with wine and food. On Saturday morning, a tour of the historical centre and the old town of Kavala, a visit to the unique Tobacco Museum, the House-House of Muhammad Ali and other points of interest took place. In the afternoon of the same day, the anniversary celebrations took place at the Masonic Hall of Kavala.

The centenary of PLATO was graced with the presence of the Delegation of M.S.T.E, headed by the Addendum Grand Master Endoxos Brother George Biniaris, the First Grand Supervisor Endoxos Brother Demetrios Bergounis, the Grand Rotor Endoxos Brother Demetrios Nemediou and the Grand Tester Endoxos Brother Nicholas Vassiliadis.

From the United Grand Lodge of Bulgaria, attended by Grand Master Most Illustrious Brother Nikolai Bozilov the Great. Secretary Most Illustrious Brother Kamen Dikov and Venerables from Lodges of Sofia, Sliven and Plovdiv. Finally, Venerables of Lodges of Serbia were present.

The speakers during the proceedings referred to the foundation, the rich history, the great contribution to the local community and the prominent position of Plato Lodge in Greek Freemasonry. Honorary plaques were awarded to brothers of PLATO who contributed to the work of the Lodge and the evening ended with an official dinner at a social centre in the centre of Kavala.
