A social offer for the child: The open event of the Masonic Foundation of Greece

The Masonic Foundation’s “Freemasons for Children” annual charity event/dinner took place on Saturday May 18 2024, at the Intercontinental Hotel. The event was attended by more than 800 Freemasons, along with their non-masonic guests.

During the event, Grand Master Michael Mattes gave a speech. Referring to the history of the charitable work carried out by the Masonic Foundation since its establishment. He also referred to the contribution made by the “Donors” Association for the purpose of consenting to the donation of human cells, tissues and organs and the Hellenic Shrine Club, a member of the Shriners International organization. Finally, he announced some of the Masonic Foundation’s contributions supporting children

  • Four incubators of a total value of € 110.000,00  two of which are of open/closed type and two of closed type, which were to be delivered the following month to the Aghia Sophia Children’s Hospital; represented at the event by its Governor Mr. Emmanuel Papasavvas and the Director of Blood Donation Mrs. Sophia Ioannidou
  • A 9/seater mini Van Opel Vivaro, with a total value of € 26.000,00 which was delivered to Special Olympics Hellas, represented by their President, His Excellency Ambassador at Honor Mr. Dionysios Kodellas and the General Secretary Mrs. Mariza Economou
  • Two auxiliary 4×4 ISUZU, fire trucks donated to the Fire Brigade, for the transport of personnel and equipment, with a total value of € 60.000,00. These were received by the Operations Coordinator of the Attica Fire Brigade Major General Panagiotis Niafas
  • Two Social Assistance MargaritaRobots, created by an interdisciplinary team of the Laboratory of Computer Applications and Robotics, University of Macedonia, intended to support people on the autism spectrum. These robots are intended to be given to the Association of Parents & Guardians of West Attica disabled children “Elpida”, represented by its President Mrs. Ekaterini Katsanaki and the Association of Parents & Guardians of the disabled “Open Embrace”, based in the Municipality of Agioi Anargyroi, represented by its President Emmanuel Diagoumas.
  • Super Market gift vouchers, of a total value of € 15.000,00  part of which was offered for Easter aid, € 2.000,00 offered to the “Elpida” Association and € 5.000,00 offered to the “Agios Alexandros” Home for Daughters of Paleo Faliro

After the presentation of the charities, a rich musical program followed and the attendees enjoyed themselves in a very pleasant atmosphere.
