13th OPEN HOUSE Thessaloniki

The Masonic Hall of Thessaloniki opened its doors to the public on Saturday 23/11 and Sunday 24/11 as part of its participation in the 13th OPEN HOUSE Thessaloniki. The response of the people of Thessaloniki was impressive. A large number of people visited the Megaron and toured it.

The Open House is one of the most important international institutions for the promotion of architecture. The idea started in London in 1992 and has spread to many cities around the world. Open House invites the general public to explore and understand the value of architecture. Every year for a weekend, public and private buildings open their doors to the public for free and the city is transformed into a large museum, with its own buildings and architecture on display. In Thessaloniki it is held annually in autumn, since 2012, with tens of thousands of visits each time!

It should be noted that this is the second time that the Megaron participates in OPEN HOUSE Thessaloniki with unprecedented attendance.

The Vice President of the Masonic Foundation, Brother George Biniaris, in his statements said: “This historic building is participating in the Open House for the second time and the purpose is to show the public our premises. Here they can see the spaces where all the masonry workers work together and have various activities. First of all, we attend very interesting talks and organise our actions within the general philosophy of Freemasonry, which is none other than the improvement of society.”
